Welcome to the website of the section Geography at K.U.Leuven! Geography focusses on spatial patterns of physical and human-induced phenomena at the earth’s surface and on the interactions between humans and their environment . The section Geography organizes a bachelor and a master degree in Geography. The education in geography aims at forming all-round geographers that are capable to work in a wide range of jobs because of the thorough training in both natural and human sciences. This training is based on research which concentrates on the following topics: geomorphological processes, soil degradation and soil conservation, terrestrial ecosystems and environmental changes, prehistoric archaeology, regional climates, integrated spatial analysis, socio-economic geography of settlements, economic geography and regional development, spatial planning, recreation and tourism. In addition, contacts with government and private companies leads to research-based services.
