Welcome to the website of the section Geology at the K.U.Leuven. The section Geology organizes a bachelor and master in Geology. This education of a wide range of earth science subjects is based on research. The education aims at forming all-round geologists that can perform a wide range of jobs as geologist in society because of the thorough basic science training and the extensive attention with respect to application of geology. The research pursues a far-reaching understanding of System Earth, with particular attention to the industrial, economic and societal implications. The extensive contacts with industry, government and other partners leads, moreover, to research based services. The research is concentrated in three domains: biogeology, applied geology and mineralogy, and geodynamics and geofluids.
